Girls at the Rainbow Bridge

Girls at the Rainbow Bridge

STORY of the RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Our Girls who have gone to the Rainbow

OFR Luna

6/12/05 - 6/24/07 (mammary cancer) <3

Luna was a wonderful kissy girl who is sorely missed

OFR Venus II

Seal Point Siamese Velveteen

Venus did not have any litters while living with me but did for ABRY

1/07/05 - 8/6/07 (heart failure) <3

I love this girl SOOO much! She gives endless kisses and does that crazy eye boggling all the time.

ABRY Prue

Dumbo American Blue Dalmation Downunder

Prue lost her only litter due to the inhability to lactate

3/23/06 - 7/21/07 (respiratory illness) <3

Prue is a very small sweet girl who was prone to allergies

13MR Bri

American Blue Berkshire

Dam to "Mythical Creatures Litter" & "The Grey's Anatomy Litter"

5/28/06 - 10/02/07 (sudden death after a stroke) <3

Bri is a personal favorite of mine and is near and dear to my heart. I am very sad to announce that Bri passed away suddenly after what appears to be a stroke.  I miss her dearly. (((RIP Bri)))

13MR Sprite

Dumbo Black Self

Dam to "The Fragrant Oils Litter"

8/31/06 - 1/01/08 (passed quietly in her sleep, no previous signs of illness) <3

Sprite is an amazing little girl with a wonderful disposion. I Wish I would have had time to breed her once more before she had to retire. She now gets to relax in the lap of luxury with her mother 13MR Bri and fellow cagemate GGR Maggie.

SITH Waan

Dumbo Black Eyed Siamese Velveteen

Waan had no litters

2/05/07 - 11/22/07 (congenitive heartfailure) <3

Waan's death  was very unexpected and devistating for our family. She was an extraordinary licky girl who is SO missed. =*( I will add more once a bit more time has passed.

EAGL Bug

Cinnamon (Roan Carrier)

Dam to "Roaming Roans Litter"

7/03/07 - 2/25/08 (sudden death following a stroke) <3

Bug was such a sweet girl and is sorely missed. Because of numerous problems with the Roan lines I will be sending most of my roons and roan carriers (along with another breeder) to Michigan where a couple of very experienced breeders can work diligently on these roans to hopefully fix the lines. Good night Love Bug.

13MR Faith

Dumbo American Blue Dalmation Odd Eye

7/20/07 - 12/07/07 (passed after having a stroke) <3

Faith was a beautiful girl who was always behind the rest of her litter in size. She was on the thin side but otherwise seemed in good health. She showed no signs of distress prior to her stroke at an early age. RIP

There are several girls from the past that I sadly no longer have pictures of. These girls were very special to me and are listed as follows:

Libra (Black Hooded - Petco rat. came home prego)

Syndra (Dumbo Black Irish - Petaluma Rescue)

Doro (Beige - Petaluma Rescue)

Padme (Black Hooded - Petaluma Rescue)

Coconut (PEW - Rescue)

Vanilla (Dumbo Beige - Florence Rescue)

Hawk (Dumbo Beige Blaze Odd Eye - rescue. born to Vanilla)

*RIP girls. You were all very special to us*

*Stevie*

Pink Eyed White

2000-2002 (Chronic Myco) <3

This is the girl who rekindled my love of rats that I'd had since childhood. My oldest Daughter give her to me as a X-Mas gift in 2000. We of course went straight out and got her a buddy. A Black Hooded named Libra. Stevie was a tiny girl who spent many hours a day hanging out on my shoulder. She also spent a lot of her life on meds for cronic myco. She lived about a year and a half. A very important year and a half of my life.

Spot

Black Hooded

2001-2003 (passed peacefully in her sleep) <3

Spot was a daughter to Stevies buddy Libra. Libra came home from the pet store pregnant, much to my surprise. Spot was the model for our 13Moons Rattery Logo. She was a beautiful, sleek kissy girl.

Tex (the rattie pictured with sister Spot. Tex is the one toward the bottom)

Black Hooded

2001-2003 (Tex's Health declined quickly after Spots death. She joined her at the bridge soon after) <3

Tex should have been named trouble. This girl completely destroyed our couch while out playing during "TV" time one evening. I looked over after half an hour into the show and "OMG!!" a ginormous pile of couch fluff was being kicked out onto the floor. Took me hours to coax her and her little side-kick, Spot, out from inside the couch so I could then spend the rest of the night restuffing and sewing the thing back together. Ahh the joys of mischeivious little girls. =)

Why Rats Are Only With Us a Short While

One day, some angels went to God and asked if they might spend some
time on Earth, to learn and perhaps to teach. He answered that some
of the people might be frightened of the angels, that His children's
idea of beauty might not be His own. The angels replied that maybe
those who could look past the differences deserved the blessings that
they could give. But God was still concerned. The angels needed
Heaven's air to breathe; they would suffocate down on Earth. The
angels promised to hold their breath as long as possible, and would
return when they could not hold it anymore. God agreed and sent down
the angels.

Many people were frightened of these creatures, despised them, and
tried to kill them in large numbers. However, the few who recognized
the angelic qualities in the beings took them in and sheltered and
fed them. In return, they received more joy and laughter then they
could possibly imagine. But alas, soon the angels could hold their
breath no longer. After just a short Earth time, they left to go back
to Heaven. But they were sure to tell the next group of angels
exactly who to seek out when they went down.
